Matthew and I just returned from a little get-a-way to Fredericksburg. We wanted to get a little time together before our son arrives in less than seven weeks and we return to the newborn baby days! We walked around Fredericksburg, shopped (Matthew is amazing and actually encouraged me to stop in every store that looked interesting!), ate some delicious food (thanks to Texas Monthly's recommendations), watched movies and caught up on our sleep. I loved getting to spend so much time with my precious husband, although we missed little Abby, of course. Abby was happy to spend some time getting spoiled in Temple though while we were away. I am already looking forward to the next time Matthew and I can get away together... in a year!

More Christmas Fun!
We were thankful to be able to spend some time with the Reyes side of our family the other weekend. Abby loves all the attention she receives at BeBe and BaBaw's house! Here are a couple of pictures...

Baby Beanbag... A little Abby story for you
The other day Abby and I were just chatting and she very matter-of-factly said, "Baby Beanbag. That will be baby brother's middle name." I have no idea where she came up with this but of course we think it is hilarious. Matthew and I keep trying to think of how to incorporate Baby Beanbag into our son's name but we've been unsuccessful so far. Needless to say, Abby thinks her parents are way behind on the naming of her little brother (who happens to be due in 8 weeks) and has taken on the responsibility herself. Just thought I'd share a little Abby story with you.
p.s. We have several boy names we really like but haven't decided on the perfect one just yet.

Christmas Time!
I have always loved everything about Christmas and the weeks leading up to it and now I can see that our little girl is the same way! Abby loves Christmas and Matthew and I are so looking forward to Christmas morning this year. She seems to grasp the concept of Christmas being the birthday of Jesus and she loves arranging her Nativity set in her room. Here are some recent pictures from some Christmas festivities.
The kids of our life group at our Christmas party. Abby is the oldest and loves to take care of the babies.

Chloe, Abby, Sara Kate and Naomi - the moms got our girls together for a little Christmas gathering.
Preschool friends - Abby with Sara Kate and Naomi. Abby is winking by the way, not to be confused with a pirate face:)
Abby and Naomi playing "Santa." The funny thing is I think they are all afraid of Santa. Isn't it fun that Abby has a friend named Naomi?

Thanksgiving Week
Sorry I'm so delayed in my Thanksgiving update. Abby and I spent the week of Thanksgiving in Temple and Matthew joined us there on Wednesday evening after work. The three of us had a very relaxing and fun time. Abby and her cousin Abram played so hard and had a wonderful time together. I love that they are only 18 months apart and the older they get the less that difference even seems to matter. While we were in Temple we also celebrated Auntie and Pop's birthdays. Here are some pictures from our week in Temple.
We started the week off with Abby's first haircut.
Little Abram just had to comb his cousin's hair.
We were able to get in a visit with Abby's good buddy, Annie Dickerson.
Abby and Abram eating a snack and watching a show. Abby (thankfully) just finished a period of about two weeks where she wasn't interested in eating anything. For a few days all she wanted to eat were Skittles and chocolate milk. Thankfully she's back to her normal picky, but at least eating something with nutritional value self!
The birthday boy with his grand babies.
Abby and Pop sharing a secret and a laugh.

Our little snow princess.

When we got home to San Antonio Abby and Daddy went right to work on Abby's beautiful new bookshelf.
