Baby Brother Project

Abby's friends came over today with their moms (my friends) to paint shirts and onesies for their little brothers and to each paint a "Big Sis" shirt for themselves. Abby's friends Sara Kate and Naomi are also going to have new baby brothers soon. We are so thankful for our sweet friends!

Happy 3rd Birthday, Sweet Abby Girl!

On Monday Abby turned three! We had a wonderful time celebrating this past weekend with family and friends. All of Abby's grandparents were able to come to town to help us celebrate. Abby wanted to have her party at Pump It Up - a huge place filled with bounce houses, slides, etc. - so that is exactly what we did! Here are some pictures from the festivities.

Abby's excited for the guests to arrive at Pump It Up!

We are thankful to have met such wonderful friends in the past year here in San Antonio.

Happy Birthday, Abby! We love you so much!

Christmas and New Year's Pictures!

I have finally gotten all the pictures off our camera from the past couple of weeks. Here they are...enjoy!

Abby with Aunt Kristine and Uncle Chris
They are about to move to Nashville, Tennessee and although we are so excited about their new adventure, we will miss them so much! Abby adores her Aunt Kristine and Uncle Chris (so do we, of course)!

Wii Rock Band - Abby and Daddy playing the drums. Our girl was so into this (along with the rest of the family)!

Abby and Aunt Judi
Abby obviously played really hard over the holidays and needed some down time.

Snuggling with Aunt Mindy. Aunt Mindy is off to San Fransisco for the next six months - we miss her already and are thankful for the time we had together over Christmas.

Abby and Pop at the zoo. When the Smith side of the family arrived in San Antonio we took a trip to the zoo.

Auntie, Abram, Hootsie and Abby

Abby's favorite thing at the zoo - the Petting Zoo. Abby and Abram brushing the goats.

Cutie Pie.

Pop and Hootsie on the train. (Another one of Abby's favorite things to do at the zoo.)

Auntie, Abram and Tio on the train. This was a special treat for Abram since Thomas the Train is a favorite of his.

Abby and Daddy in the hot tub - note the goggles. Pop and Hootsie spent a couple of nights at the Hyatt Wild Oak Ranch here in San Antonio, which we all loved. We all enjoyed the hot tub and the indoor pool.

Happy New Year!
I think we were all in bed asleep by midnight.

A Belated Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

I can't believe Christmas has already come and gone. We were taking the tree down today and I was telling Abby how much I love Christmas and that I was kind of sad that it was over to which she replied, "Don't worry, it will come again next year." So true. We had a very relaxing Christmas celebration in San Antonio this year. We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at home with just the three of us. Then we had Matthew's side of the family come for three days and then my side came for three days. We had a wonderful time. I will post pictures soon but in the meantime, Happy New Year!

Babymoon in Fredericksburg

Matthew and I just returned from a little get-a-way to Fredericksburg. We wanted to get a little time together before our son arrives in less than seven weeks and we return to the newborn baby days! We walked around Fredericksburg, shopped (Matthew is amazing and actually encouraged me to stop in every store that looked interesting!), ate some delicious food (thanks to Texas Monthly's recommendations), watched movies and caught up on our sleep. I loved getting to spend so much time with my precious husband, although we missed little Abby, of course. Abby was happy to spend some time getting spoiled in Temple though while we were away. I am already looking forward to the next time Matthew and I can get away together... in a year!

More Christmas Fun!

We were thankful to be able to spend some time with the Reyes side of our family the other weekend. Abby loves all the attention she receives at BeBe and BaBaw's house! Here are a couple of pictures...

Baby Beanbag... A little Abby story for you

The other day Abby and I were just chatting and she very matter-of-factly said, "Baby Beanbag. That will be baby brother's middle name." I have no idea where she came up with this but of course we think it is hilarious. Matthew and I keep trying to think of how to incorporate Baby Beanbag into our son's name but we've been unsuccessful so far. Needless to say, Abby thinks her parents are way behind on the naming of her little brother (who happens to be due in 8 weeks) and has taken on the responsibility herself. Just thought I'd share a little Abby story with you.
p.s. We have several boy names we really like but haven't decided on the perfect one just yet.
