Baby Beanbag... A little Abby story for you

The other day Abby and I were just chatting and she very matter-of-factly said, "Baby Beanbag. That will be baby brother's middle name." I have no idea where she came up with this but of course we think it is hilarious. Matthew and I keep trying to think of how to incorporate Baby Beanbag into our son's name but we've been unsuccessful so far. Needless to say, Abby thinks her parents are way behind on the naming of her little brother (who happens to be due in 8 weeks) and has taken on the responsibility herself. Just thought I'd share a little Abby story with you.
p.s. We have several boy names we really like but haven't decided on the perfect one just yet.

Christmas Time!

I have always loved everything about Christmas and the weeks leading up to it and now I can see that our little girl is the same way! Abby loves Christmas and Matthew and I are so looking forward to Christmas morning this year. She seems to grasp the concept of Christmas being the birthday of Jesus and she loves arranging her Nativity set in her room. Here are some recent pictures from some Christmas festivities.

Thanksgiving Week

Sorry I'm so delayed in my Thanksgiving update. Abby and I spent the week of Thanksgiving in Temple and Matthew joined us there on Wednesday evening after work. The three of us had a very relaxing and fun time. Abby and her cousin Abram played so hard and had a wonderful time together. I love that they are only 18 months apart and the older they get the less that difference even seems to matter. While we were in Temple we also celebrated Auntie and Pop's birthdays. Here are some pictures from our week in Temple.
We started the week off with Abby's first haircut.
Little Abram just had to comb his cousin's hair.
We were able to get in a visit with Abby's good buddy, Annie Dickerson.
Abby and Abram eating a snack and watching a show. Abby (thankfully) just finished a period of about two weeks where she wasn't interested in eating anything. For a few days all she wanted to eat were Skittles and chocolate milk. Thankfully she's back to her normal picky, but at least eating something with nutritional value self!

Thanksgiving Feast & Fun with Emma Kate Rains

Abby's preschool had a Thanksgiving feast on Friday. The children performed a precious song about a Thanksgiving turkey and then we feasted on delicious food. Abby did a wonderful job during the performance!

This past weekend the Rains family came to visit us in SA. On Saturday we took the girls downtown to the market and out to eat at Mi Tierra. Thanks for a great visit, Rains Family!

Houston Trip

Last Monday Abby and I took a little road trip to Houston to visit some of my best friends. We had a wonderful time and it was so good to be able to catch up with all that is going on in their lives.

Abby and Chloe (Kelly's daughter)

Cute Chloe - Abby actually took this picture. She is very into taking pictures whenever we have the camera out. This happens to be the best one she's ever taken! Abby and Chloe had a great time playing together during our visit.

Abby took this picture of her shoes. I didn't see it until I went to upload pictures. Pretty good for an almost-three-year old.
We also got to meet little Maylee Grace Wells, the second daughter of our good friends Adam and Katie Wells. I wish I had gotten a picture. We'll just have to get together again soon.
Thanks for a great trip to Houston, sweet friends!

Weekend Update

We had a great/fun/busy weekend! Abby and I made a last minute trip to Temple Friday afternoon since Matthew had to work all weekend (we really missed him!). We spent Friday night with family and our precious friends, the Dickersons. Abby was so excited to get in some trick or treating with her best buddy Annie. Uncle B called us last week asking if Abby wanted to be in the Baylor Homecoming Parade on Saturday morning - of course we couldn't pass up this offer! So we all woke up very early Saturday morning to make it to Waco in time for the parade. Uncle B drove Hannah, his girlfriend and his fraternity's homecoming queen nominee, in the parade and Abby got to ride next to her. Hannah said that several little girls along the path of the parade asked if Abby was a princess! Abby was wearing her Halloween princess costume, of course. Abby and I drove home to San Antonio in time for dinner with Daddy. Thankfully Sunday was a quiet day with church, naps and some fun family time.
Enjoy the pictures from the weekend!
