Memorial Day Weekend

We hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! My parents came for the weekend and watched Abby Saturday night so Matthew and I could have a night out. We went to see Pat Green at Floore's Country Store (definitely one of the best concert venues) and then got to spend the night at La Cantera Resort - thanks Mom & Dad! All of us spent Saturday and Sunday camped out at the resort pools. There are five pools and a big water slide - Abby even talked Hootsie (my mom) into going down with her before Abby went down three times by herself!

Is this her Daddy's smile or what!?!

Abby kept asking Pop and Daddy to throw her!

Friends!

This week Katie and Emma Kate Wells came for a visit. Matthew and Katie's husband, Adam, went to the same high school and then were college roommates at A&M. When Adam and Katie got married, Katie and I became instant friends. We are so thankful for their friendship!
Here are some pictures from our time together.

Emma and Abby playing in the pool. Emma was not such a fan of the cold water... Abby was not phased at all and was actually spraying Emma with the water... sorry sweet Emma!

A couple of bonus pictures from BeBe (Matthew's mom)...

Matthew's company handed out hard hats at the company picnic last weekend. Abby loves wearing her new hat.

Pictures from this weekend

We got to spend some time with family and old friends this past weekend.
We spent Saturday morning at the Thompson's house, some of our dear friends in Dallas that we miss so much. Abby and Calli are sweet friends.

The church we attended in Dallas, Woodcreck Church, just moved into a new building. Matthew and Abby are playing on the new playground.
A little hot from playing so hard.
Abby and Calli about to hug each other. The girls got a little carried away with their hugging and fell over!

River Walk

We spent Tuesday evening in downtown San Antonio at Market Square and on the River Walk. We had a great time and sweet Abby didn't understand why she couldn't just hop on in the river and go for a swim. Here are a few pictures from our adventure.

Fun with Aunt Kristine & Uncle Chris

We are so happy that Aunt Kristine and Uncle Chris are here visiting us for the week. Yesterday we had an incredibly fun time at the zoo and this morning Aunt Kristine treated Abby to a manicure and pedicure. Here are some pictures of Abby with her aunt and uncle.

Second First Day of School and more...

Sorry I've been a bad blogger lately. Here's what we've been up to...
In Abby's two years of life she's already had two first days of school - one in Dallas and now one in San Antonio. Last week Abby started at a preschool here in San Antonio and she loves it! We are so thankful that we were able to find a place for her and as a bonus her sweet teacher and I went to high school together...small world.
My parents came last weekend and we had a fun and relaxing time. We spent Saturday evening downtown and had dinner at Mi Tierra, a fabulous Mexican restaurant and bakery. A few days later Auntie Becki, Abram and Hootsie came to visit us - the cousins had a great time playing together and Becki and I were able to squeeze in a little sister time, too - thanks Hootsie! On Friday the three of us went to Sea World for a couple hours. Today Uncle Chris and Aunt Kristine are coming for a visit and we are so excited.
Here are a few pictures from the last couple of weeks. Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms!

Abby on her first day of school. She looks so big to us in these pictures!

Abby and Abram...this is the best picture I could get of them.

Best Little Buddies

This past weekend one of my oldest and best friends in the world, Julie, came to visit us with her husband and two children. Julie's oldest, Annie is only five months older than Abby and although our girls have spent time together before this was the first time they have been old enough to really play together. It took just minutes for them to bond and they were inseparable the rest of the weekend. Abby kept calling Annie, "My Little Annie." Abby and Annie's little friendship brings so much joy to my heart!
Here are a couple of pictures of them being silly and eating marshmallows, which they received as a reward for Abby using the potty.
I'll post more pictures from our weekend together soon.

Annie looks so much like Julie...do I even need to write that Abby looks nothing like me!
