Jacob is a BIG Boy!

I took Jacob to his one month check-up last week and the doctor confirmed what I already knew... Jacob David is a big boy! I knew he was at least above average based on the large quantities of milk he consumes all day and night. As of Friday he weighs 11 pounds 4 oz. (80%) and is 23 inches tall (90%). I thought he looked bigger than most one-month-olds:)

Several recent pictures...

The NEW Reyes Family of Four
Abby is really into headbands lately - she just clearly wears them in her own way:)
Mama and her two babies - Don't worry I know it doesn't look like it but I know that you are supposed to support a newborn's head.

Our Two Kids

Wow! Life has been so crazy for us lately - sorry I've been so bad about updating the blog and posting pictures. In less than two months we've celebrated Abby's third birthday, my (29th!) birthday, Jacob's birth and mine and Matthew's 7th wedding anniversary. Everything is going well for our family of four and we are adjusting to less sleep and all that comes with having a newborn in the house. Jacob is a joy and Abby is the perfect big sister. We have had lots of help from our wonderful family and friends. Our friends here in San Antonio have kept us well fed and we've had Auntie Becki, Aunt Kristine, Aunt Judi, BeBe (Matthew's Mom) and Hootsie (Naomi's Mom) come to take care of us. We are thankful!
Here are a few updated pics of the family.

Jacob in the "tent" - one of Abby's favorite places to play as a newborn, too.

Is that a little smile? We can't wait for Jacob to really start smiling intentionally because when he smiles in his sleep he has the greatest smile!

Uncle B and Hannah with Jacob - they came through town for a visit and brought us a delicious dinner. Thank you two - we had fun with you!

Jacob Turns One Week Old & Abby Celebrates Valentine's Day!

On Thursday our little guy turned one week old. Here are a couple pictures from that day. Also, my sweet friend Lacy put together a Valentine's party the day before Jacob was born so I am including some pictures from our fabulously fun day at her and Ellie's (her daughter) house.

Daddy loves to play the guitar for Jacob - and Jacob loves to listen.

Lacy took these wonderful pictures of all the preggos and their little girls. Thanks so much, Lacy!

Jacob David Reyes is Here!!!

Our son, Jacob David Reyes was born at 12:32 pm on Thursday, February 12th! He weighs 7 pounds, 4 ounces and is 20 inches long. We came home from the hospital yesterday and all is well. Abby is proving to be the amazing big sister that we knew she would be. Thank you all so much for your prayers. Here are some pictures.

Baby Boy Reyes Update!

We just wanted to let everyone know that I am scheduled to be induced at 5 am on Thursday, February 12th! Today is our little guy's due date but I guess he doesn't know that. So... we will get to meet our son in only two days! Please pray for a healthy baby and a labor and delivery free of complications. Thank you!

San Antonio Rodeo

We spent Sunday afternoon at the San Antonio Rodeo. This was not Matthew's first rodeo but Abby and I had never been before. One of the subcontractors Matthew works with got us the tickets and we were on the front row. We were showered many times with dirt as the horses and bulls ran (or sometimes bucked) right by us. After the rodeo we spent some time at the carnival and the petting zoo.
By the way, I am still pregnant with baby boy - if I would have had the option I may have ridden a mechanical bull or something to induce labor but we couldn't find one...
We had a fun time and look forward to getting to go back to the rodeo next year!

Cowgirl Abby (as she referred to herself all afternoon) still wearing her name tag from Sunday School and a sticker that reads "Dear God, please help me obey my parents." They are learning about prayer and every week there is something different to pray for. We'll see how this week goes... actually, we are thankful to have a little girl that is very obedient for the most part.

Isn't this amazing?
