Our Wonderful Colorado Trip

Here are some pictures from our trip to Colorado. It was a perfect vacation and we feel so blessed to have had both our families together in such an amazingly beautiful place.

Auntie, Abram, Abby and Mommy eating the 4th of July cookies we decorated.

We took a boat ride on a lake in the middle of the mountains. I was able to catch Daddy and Abby in a sweet moment.
My most favorite picture - my precious husband and daughter.

One Colorado Picture

Hey Friends and Family! I know it's been over a week since we returned from Colorado and I've yet to post any pictures. The truth is I still haven't even downloaded them yet! Just so I won't be the very worst blogger ever I am posting one that Matthew's mom took of our family while on a hike. It was an amazing trip and I can't wait to share more of our pictures with you all!

Adios Texas!

We are off to Colorado tomorrow for a trip with both our families. Abby has been counting the days...she is excited to see her cousin Abram and the rest of the loves of her life. And, she has been talking non-stop about flying on an airplane. We'll be back next week with lots of pictures to post.
Here are a couple of recent pictures.
p.s. Happy 4th of July!

Happy Father's Day to Daddy Matthew!

Abby is so blessed to have an amazing father in Matthew. I knew when I married him he would be such an incredible dad to our children and he has far surpassed even what I could have imagined.

Some special daddy and daughter things...

Abby thinks Matthew can fix anything - at least twice a day she'll see me struggling with something and she'll say, "Don't worry Mommy, Daddy can fix it." (She's always right, of course!)

Whenever he can, Matthew takes Abby on a "date" to Krispy Kreme donuts. It's their special time together.

Abby and Matthew love to eat black licorice and sorghum syrup together. Matthew started letting Abby taste black licorice when she was six months old and she's loved it ever since!

When I go to Abby's room to get her when she wakes up in the morning the first thing she asks me is, "Where's my daddy?"

Matthew, we love you so much and I'm so thankful God gave you to me as a husband and to Abby as a father!

These pictures don't do her justice...

When Matthew and I went to get Abby from her nap this afternoon this is what we found - Abby got into her thick, oily diaper cream and was applying it all over herself because she thought it was sunscreen. Gross and hilarious, but mostly hilarious.

Best Friends

One of God's many blessings in my life is the incredible group of friends I grew up with. We love each other like sisters and as we have grown up, changed and gone in different directions we have somehow managed to stay the best of friends. Every so often we carve out a weekend to meet together and just spend time relaxing and catching up. We spent last weekend in Fredricksburg - we laughed, cried, ate, shopped, visited Luckenbach and spent an afternoon at a beautiful Hill Country winery. I am so thankful for my beautiful friends!

Rachel, Heather, Kelly, Me, Julie & Amanda

A little about the girls...

Rachel and her husband are attorneys in Houston. They just moved to Texas from Washington, D.C. - we are so thankful to have them home!

Heather lives in Houston and is the executive vice president of Elaine Turner. Visit her company's website to check out some amazing handbags and accessories http://www.elaineturner.com/.

Amanda lives in Dallas and is a consultant for IBM. I miss her so much since we moved to San Antonio!

Kelly, her husband and one-year-old daughter live in Houston. Kelly is a fellow stay-at-home mom.

Julie, her husband and two children live in Galveston. Julie is also a stay-at-home mom. They recently came for a visit and our daughters are now best friends too!

Interesting Link

So I just got back from an amazing weekend with the girls I grew up with - I'll post some pictures soon. We spent the weekend in Fredricksburg, an adorable little town in the Texas Hill Country. When we got home yesterday one of my friends found this article in the New York Times.
