Happy Easter!

"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many." - Mark 10:45

We hope you all had a wonderful Easter!

Spring Break!

So it's been since grad school that we've really experienced spring break. This year though we really did get to have a spring break - everyone came to us. For the past week and a half we've had family and friends stay with us in San Antonio. It's been a blast. (Note all the zoo pics...we went to the zoo four times in a week...good thing it's a great zoo!)

"Smell My Milk Breath."

We are not kidding, last night when we were putting Abby to bed she very clearly said, "Smell my milk breath." Lately we've been talking about how important it is to brush your teeth and how after you brush you have good breath from the toothpaste. Earlier in the day she told me to smell her jelly bean breath, which was pretty cute, then came the milk breath comment which was hilarious and slightly gross.

Tortillas Song and Other Funny Stories

A recent picture of Abby cleaning, one of her favorite things to do.

We have several new Abby stories to share with you all.

Tortillas Song
We started singing the Sunday school song "Zaccheus Was a Wee Little Man" to Abby and now at nap and bed time she asks for the Tortillas song because she has trouble pronouncing Zaccheus. Maybe living in San Antonio is having an effect on her.

Sample
Today at the mall we walked past Auntie Anne's pretzel store and Abby started walking toward the counter when we asked what she was doing she said she wanted a sample. Ummm...I (Naomi) take total responsibility for this as I am the queen of samples. But, isn't two a little young to know about samples? We didn't even know she knew the word "sample."

"Sit and Be Fit"
Disclaimer: If you've never seen the PBS show "Sit and Be Fit" you may not think this story is that funny. Check out the show's website and this story makes more sense - http://www.sitandbefit.org/.

When I (Naomi) take showers in the morning I usually put Abby on our bed with books and let her watch a TV show on PBS. The other day her show ended and "Sit and Be Fit" came on. I walked out of the bathroom to find Abby exercising along with the host of "Sit and Be Fit." Needless to say, Matthew and I lost it. We are still laughing about Abby's workout - she was so into it.

Precious Abby

Here are a couple pictures of Abby we took today. As we wrote in an earlier post, she is really not into looking at the camera when we try to take her picture, so this is as good as it gets for now.
Abby has become quite the talker lately. She is starting to use pronouns and is sharing her own "original" thoughts with us (opposed to repeating what she hears us say).
Here are a couple Abbyisms of late...
We were on a walk with Abby the other day and Abby decided she wanted to start running. After she stopped she said, "Abby has fast legs." We were driving yesterday and passed a runner. Abby pointed to him and said, "He has fast legs like me."
The past several days Abby has been completely disinterested in taking a nap. When we tell her it's time she starts crying and runs in the opposite direction. Yesterday Matthew and Abby were downstairs playing and I told them to come up in two minutes for rest time - we thought maybe using rest rather then nap may make a difference - it was no use - anyway, Abby looked at Matthew and said, "Daddy, take me get donuts."
